Doubletwist Sync Problems
- Download and install the AirSync app for your Android device. The Android screenshots may vary from device to device.
- Search for “doubleTwist Player” in the Google Play Store. Select 'AirSync' to proceed with purchasing the app.
- Tap on the price to start the purchase process. Tap on 'ACCEPT' to bypass the Permissions screen.
- Tap on 'BUY'. You may need to enter your Play Store account password to proceed.
- Once the purchase has been validated, the installation process will continue.
- Tap on 'OPEN' to launch the AirSync app. If you do not have doubleTwist Player installed, please tap on 'Get the free app'.
- The Play Store entry for doubleTwist Player will appear. Tap on 'INSTALL' to download and install on your device. Tap on 'OPEN' and then tap on 'ALLOW' on the initial dialog so the app can access files on your device.
- Next, download and install doubleTwist for Mac OSX. OSX 10.5 (or higher) and an Intel x86 processor is required.
- After downloading, the disk image will auto-mount and you will get the installer window. Drag doubleTwist into your Applications folder
- Double click on the Applications folder and then launch doubleTwist.
- You may see a “application downloaded from the Internet” warning. Click “Open” to continue.
- The End User License Agreement dialog box will pop up. Please read through it carefully and then click “Accept” to continue if you accept the terms of the agreement.
- On first launch, doubleTwist will scan and import your iTunes library into the doubleTwist library.
- In this example, in iTunes there are two albums. doubleTwist will now also have access to these two albums.
- To import your iTunes playlists, click on “Playlist Setup” in the left hand navigation bar. Then click on “Import iTunes Playlists” in the main navigation area.
- Your iTunes playlists will then be imported.
- Next, let’s setup AirSync. Please ensure that both your Android device and computer are connected to the same network.
- Go back into doubleTwist Pro and bring out the Nav Drawer by tapping on the 3-horizontal line 'hamburger' icon in the upper left. Then scroll down to find 'Settings'.
- The AirSync passcode will be shown in the 'AirSync' section. This passcode is randomly generated. You can tap on the code to generate a new random pairing code.
- Your Android device should now appear in the left hand navigation area of the computer application with an AirSync logo next to it.
If it does not, please try the troubleshooting steps outlined here. - Clicking on the device will bring up the passcode entry screen in the main navigation area. Type in the passcode from step 5b and the pairing process will begin.
- Once the pairing process has completed successfully, the AirSync icon will change to a down arrow and additional icons will appear below your device.
- For most modern devices, transcoding/conversion will not be needed for MP3 and AAC/M4A files. Here is a list of formats that doubleTwist Pro v3 supports.
You can disable transcoding by right-clicking and then enabling the 'Disable Transcoder For Device' option. This will transmit the files as-is to your device without conversion. However, if you have files in Apple Lossless (ALAC) format, you do not want to disable transcoding as our Music Player app is not capable of playing ALAC files yet. Please do not enable this option if you are trying to sync files in Apple Lossless or any other incompatible format.
- With your Android device paired to your Mac and appearing as a drive, you can now setup the sync process.
- doubleTwist for Mac OSX now recognizes your Android device and displays it in the left hand navigation.
- Click on the “Sync music to device”. The default is to sync “All Music”. You can also sync only selected playlists by clicking on “Selected Playlists:”
- Click “Sync” to begin the sync process.
- After the sync completes, the music and playlists will then appear in doubleTwist Pro v3 on your Android device.

AirSync creates a server on your Android device that uses port 9968. You then 'pair' your Android device to your computer using the AirSync passcode. The very best of prince download. Below is a list of steps to try if your computer isn't seeing your Android device.
Download Doubletwist
- Reboot all devices
- Try rebooting all devices including the computer, Android device, and wireless router.
- Check wireless router & firewall settings
- Make sure that you are running the latest versions of the computer and Android application.
- Make sure that your computer and your Android device are connected to the same network as some Cisco/Linksys routers have 'guest' and 'home' networks, which can not communicate with each other. Some users have reported that they didn't realize their Android device was connected to the 'guest' network instead of the 'home' network so their computer could not see their Android device.
- Make sure that any network security settings such as 'AP Isolation' is disabled on your router. Some users have reported that they needed to toggle this setting in order to ensure that it was really disabled.
- Please check that any firewall or internet security applications on your computer or Android device such as Avast or Comodo or Windows Firewall are set to allow communication between your Android device and your computer.
- Some users have reported that their ISP's transparent proxies interfered with pairing process and they needed to disable the proxy in order for AirSync to function correctly.
- Disable & Re-Enable AirSync
- While in the doubleTwist Music Player for Android home screen, tap on the doubleTwist icon to slide out the menu. Then tap on “Settings” to bring up the doubleTwist Settings screen.
- Tap on “AirSync” to expand the AirSync menu items.
- Tap on “Enable AirSync” to disable AirSync.
- After a few seconds, AirSync will be disabled.
- Tap on “Enable AirSync” again to enable AirSync.
- On the desktop application, right click over DEVICES and then select “Scan Network for Devices” (Mac/OSX) or “Refresh devices” (PC/Windows) to have the application look for devices on the network again. [TIP: Be sure to right-click over the word 'DEVICES' as right-clicking over 'Getting Started' will not bring up the menu.]
- The Android device should now appear on the left hand navigation of your desktop application.
- Clicking on the name of the device will bring up the passcode entry screen.

- Tap on “Can't see your device?” to manually broadcast your device's presence.

- Try to ping your Android device from your computer.
- While in the doubleTwist Music Player for Android home screen, tap on the doubleTwist icon to slide out the menu. Then tap on “Settings” to bring up the doubleTwist Settings screen.
- Tap on “AirSync” to expand the AirSync menu items.
- Tap on “What's my IP address?” and the following screen will appear with your device's IP address on the bottom. Please note that your device IP address will probably be different depending your network configuration.
- Windows: Launch the Command Prompt program by going to the Start menu and then Accessories.
- Windows: Type in “ping [IP_ADDRESS]” in the Command Prompt. The IP_ADDRESS is the IP address from step 5d. If your device is easily reachable, you should see low round trip times in the statistics.
- Windows: If your device isn’t reachable from your computer then it will probably say “Destination host unreachable”. If this is the case then you will need to reconfigure your network to enable your computer to communicate with your Android device.
- Mac OSX: Launch the Network Utility program by going to Applications and then Utilities.
- Mac OSX: Click on the “Ping” tab and then type in the IP address from step 5d. If your device is easily reachable, you should see low round trip times in the statistics.
- Mac OSX: If your device isn’t reachable from your computer then it will probably say “Request timeout”. If this is the case then you will need to reconfigure your network to enable your computer to communicate with your Android device.
- If your Android device is reachable from your computer then you should proceed to the next troubleshooting step.
- Manually pair your Android device and your computer.
